Whole Foods
Bread of Life focuses on natural whole foods!
What
is meant by whole foods? Fresh whole foods refers to natural whole
foods that have not be altered and processed by man to artificially
extend their shelf life. Fresh whole foods contain the natural
nutrients, enzymes, vitamins, minerals, fats, carbohydrates, proteins,
etc. that are a part of living plants and animals. In their natural
whole form, these foods contain everything your body needs to digest
the food and bring its life giving nutrients to your body. Life begets
life. The problem is that these whole foods, once their life is gone,
begins a natural process of degeneration. The sooner they are eaten,
the more nutrition we get from them. At varying degrees of time, these
foods will spoil and no longer be edible.
When we refer to fresh whole foods, we also mean that these foods have not been genetically modified or altered by man. There is a basic issue here. If you are a person of faith, you believe that God created and provided the foods we need for a healthy and abundant life. When man thinks he can do better than what God has provided, there are always negative consequences.
Others would argue that there is a natural ecological process involved that man
does not comprehend and that man’s alterations are dangerous and
will ultimately lead to errors which the average person will bear the
consequences of. Whatever your conclusions, both would agree that our
food chain is now being driven by the drive for profits and wealth with
little consideration for people’s health.
The lure of cheap,
instant artificial food to a society focussed on pleasure and
entertainment cannot be easily halted. Slick marketing convinces the
naive that this concoction tastes great! Others who have more balance
in their lives find it difficult to find and afford real food. The
cycle is a vicious one but one worth overcoming.
Whole Foods. Pay more. Eat Less. It works!
Nothing
is free and money is scarce for many, but more and more people are
discovering that their quality of life is more important than eating
cheap processed foods. They know they will pay for cheap foods through poor health
and chronic health problems in the future. We used to say you will pay
for it later in life, but more and more children are getting health
problems from the womb because their mothers trusted the food industry
and ate what they could afford at the superstore.
You will have to pay more for natural whole foods, but your hunger is
satisfied with less whole foods so you eat less and your body will not
have to store fat from the blood sugar generated from refined foods.
