Sports Nutrition
Sports demands a lot from our bodies. The nutritional requirements for endurance sports are much greater than the average person. Optimum energy and essential nutrients must extend over longer periods of time both in training and competition. Thus the need is for a unique combination of energy with a low glycemic index. In other words, there must be energy available to the athlete over an extended period of time. As energy sources wain, fatigue sets in and skills are impaired. A technically less skilled athlete can overcome their opposition if their energy level is maintained over longer periods of time.
We are preparing a number of sports mixes that require soaking overnight or for at least six hours. This will begin the germination process and bring life to the seeds and grains. They will have great amounts of living energy with an extremely low glycemic index. This creates raw, natural, and living food that can give high levels of energy for extended periods of time. This energy is not only available for long periods of time, it has been broken down by germination into forms that can easily penetrate the walls of human cells. Thus all of the energy is available to the athlete.
Our Morning Mix is the closest thing we have now to a sports mix. Morning Mix not only has a low glycemic index, it naturally controls and extends blood sugar levels. Additionally it provides the benefit of germination. This breaks down the nutrients into simple forms that can easily penetrate the cell walls.
Our historical and nutritional research has discovered a unique blend of seeds and grains that we believe will make a highly nutritious energy meal for endurance athletes. The problem is that not all of these ingredients are yet available in the UK. In fact, one of them is not even legal, although it has been approved in most of the rest of the world. We are working on it and have a supply of everything we need once everything is legally available.
We currently have several endurance athletes that have agreed to try out our new mix once it is available. We hope to have it on the market by the first of 2010. We will keep you informed. Until then, if you are an endurance athlete, try our Morning Mix. You may be amazed at what it can do for you.
Another boost for the endurance athlete is porridge. It has a low glycemic index along with excellent amounts of protein and carbohydrates. Milling your oats fresh from the grain each morning provides you with more protein and nutrients than pre-packaged oats that have been cooked and dried to extend their shelf life. Great for runners and cyclists.
