We work with the following farms in the UK

Yockenthwaite Farm

Situated on the River Wharfe, this remote working hill farm has been in the same family for 160 years. Stuart and Elizabeth Hird are the current generation that raise sheep among the hills and traditional wild flower hay meadows. The lamb reared in this environment produce some of the best tasting lamb anywhere. It is available through mail order anywhere in the UK.

Diversification is the name of the game for a modern successful farm. Bread of Life & Yockenthwaite Farm, both in Upper Wharfedale in the Yorkshire Dales, have joined together to bring you special fresh-milled cereals. The original Granola recipe was developed by Bread of Life to demonstrate the flavour and richness of fresh-milled grains. Elizabeth Hird began to offer it to her B&B guests at Yockenthwaite Farm in January 2006. Guests responded favorably to this 'gorgeous' cereal & repeatedly asked to purchase it. Originally it was considered too expensive & time consuming to produce, but the demand could not be quenched. When asked to help find someone local to assist in the production of granola, Elizabeth and Stuart saw the potential for diversification. The granola and other products are now available at farmers markets, B&Bs, fairs, special web orders, & other selected outlets.  We now sell the granolas at about 17 selected farmers markets. We are now preparing to make the granolas available at specially selected outlets in the north and elsewhere in the UK.

Imbhams Farm

IFG Farm

This working farm is on the edge of the North York Moors.  It is near Thirsk where James Herriot lived. Sproxton Hall is a lovely Grade 2 Listed 17th century working farm. Mark Wainright saw the potential of providing grain directly to home millers while the concept of the business was being developed. Mark is now our main grain provider in the north for our granolas, bread mixes, and throughout the UK through our internet orders. See more details at: www.yorkshirenet.co.uk/accgde/sproxtonhall/

Bread of Life and Imbhams Farm have joined together to produce a variety of fresh-milled cereals and baked products. Maggie Barlow and James Halfhide were introduced to Bread of Life at a fair near Haslemere in the Surrey Hills.  The nutritional impact and concept of fresh grains helped to develop a relationship between us. They were also very interested in our desire to support local farms and their relationship with local communities.

Although our partnership is a new one, we are all excited about the possibilities of growing grains on the Furnace Place Estate and surrounding farms in Surrey and bringing both the finished products and fresh grains to the families of the area.  Maggie and James have an exciting vision that we look forward to see become a reality.
